The most important change to this walk
Was my approach
Treating it as if it might be my final one
Worries put aside
Content to just be in the moment
Every breath seen for the miracle it is
Determined to savor every sound 
Register every color
Be present at every step
Bird calls stood out
Car noise heard but treated merely as background
A middle-aged couple approach at one point
The woman of the duo smiled at me
And I returned it adding a verbal greeting as well
It felt good
