I understand what you mean. When I started my spiritual journey I needed it intensely because of the amount of bad decisions I had made over the decades. So when I meditated I would get into a state of catharsis. It was because I was able to transcend the emotional pain.
Then it normalized. It's not that I regressed, it's that it fulfilled its function and when it feels less intense is that you are more stable.
What I want to tell you is that maybe what happens now is that you are more balanced and that is why you feel less intense, and maybe that is a good thing.
