In Karl Ove's second book (my fight, there are six books) he talks about how he could have had a happy family, if that had been the goal. But, he admits that happiness was not enough for him. And it is real, we say to look for it, but for many of us it is not enough to be happy, we prefer success, despite the suffering that it entails.
