Is Your Life Worth the Same as Mine?

The unspoken truth.

--

Today I read this beautiful lie, โ€œOur lives have as much value as any other.โ€

We are not worth the same.

Nor do we cost the same.

Nor is our value constant over time.

A healthy person produces goods and services. And that has a rising value.

A sick or dependent person. It costs money, time, and resources. So it has a cost associated with it.

The point is that all people will live in both worlds. No one knows how long it will take to go from being a healthy person to a dependent. But what is certain is that if you live long enough, you will end up in the second group. And that is why there is a social contract.

The point of any society is to provide its members with essentially three things,

  • Security.
  • Quality of life.
  • And resources to be able to survive.

Without these three things, society lacks sense and becomes a failed state.

If you do not feel safe where you live, you have to flee to another place.

If you canโ€™t have a certain quality of life, you will suffer, and who wants to be a slave in the 21st century?
