Life is unfair. We are unfair. But people who believe in equal opportunity tip the scales in favor of hope.

The difference is in the little things from day to day: a smile, a kind word, a little selfless solidarity.

We do not know what battle our neighbor is fighting. Maybe being nice to him when we meet him on the street or in the elevator makes a difference: it gives him a reason to keep fighting.
