Saint John of the Cross is fundamental for me too.

The dark night of the soul is truly a blinding light as Saint John says.

It is like in the parable of the disciples of Emmaus, they do not recognize the Lord until he breaks the bread.

We don't realize how good it was that God purged us until we see the blessings behind the dark night of the soul.

You have a gift for reading people's expressions. Thanks for sharing the anecdote with me.

Blessings, Catherine.
