The reason why our friends don't rejoice in our successes is not usually because of envy, but because when you succeed, they can't excuse themselves for their situation.

Many of the friends we have don't want you to do better than them, because they can't keep fooling themselves. And their head keeps repeating, "If she could do it, I didn't do enough, and now everyone will know it".
